It's been a while since I participated in a miniature painting contest so when I discovered that Artisan Guild hosted an monthly contest among their patreons I thought why not :)
The model is part of Artisan Guild's patreon release from October. I printed it on a Anycubic Photon assembled it and painted the beast and the rider separatly.
I usually use dark colors but this time I decided to challenge myself and take a completly different approach to the model, way out of my comfort zone.
I wanted to use bright sharp colors and place the model on a vivid rainforrest base for extra visual effect.
The model turned out great, but it has a lot of flaws which could have been fixed by using a bit more time. The black areas need some details and the rest should just have been given some time to smoothen out the flaws. I'll learn from this and make sure that the next contest model is given a bit more love (I'm actually printing it right now, it's a goblin on a scrap golem).
I should just mention that Artisan Guild has a really great Patreon where they create really beautiful 3d models of fantasy models. If you are into 3D printing you should take a look they will not disapoint.
