Xarlin Fleet Finished

Updated: Nov 27, 2019

I finally finished painting my "Xarlin" fleet and I am really proud of how the individual models turned out and how the fleet looks as a whole.

I designed all of the models so they could be printed on a standard (cheap) Ender 3 pro printer with a standard 0.4 nozzle without any kind of supports. It really worked quite well and I think that the result speaks for itself :) . I am also going to print the models on an anycubic photon just to see how much smoother the result will be.

I personally really like how my smaller crafts (and bases) turned out, the fighters and bombers looked much better than I had hoped for when they left the printer. The large ship (a small battle carrier) incorporate the fighters in its middle section which is a bit unusual for miniature space game models. I also decided to design all weapon and defensive systems as visible parts of the ships.

One of my good friends has written a backstory to the race (to add some flavor to the fleet) and she has also painted a couple of smaller fleets with other color schemes. I'll post these when I find the time to take pictures.

The next step is to design some really epic models. Currently I have a Battleship, Mothership, Spacestation and a full carrier on my to do list. I also want to design some terrain features for a space table (so it will really stand out).

Hope you all enjoy, comments and ideas are much appreciated :)
