Laser Engraver First Burns

I have used a lot of time lately getting some of my older projects finished. Around a year ago I build two laser-cutters/engravers and I designed a very nice box with work LED lights, surveillance camera, Laser protective glass, and a working ventilation system. When the boxes was build and the machines was installed inside it was a couple of monster machines and I didn't have a place to set them up so they was set aside.

During the last week we have been working on fixing up he old engine house and this finally gave the room required for these machines. I found two old computers and got the software to work with windows XP (these are completly offline machines).

Here's the first real print I did on the 2,5W laser. I'm actually really impressed with the result and I'm planning on making a bunch of coasters with all kinds of awesome art engraved.

A series with f1 cars for the guys I watch Formula 1 with would be really awesome.

Here's a picture of the laser working on a coaster with a Tintin motive. I made this for one of my colleges. The laser looks really awesome when there is a bit of smoke inside the box so the beam is visible :)

The next step is finding some setting for making the laser cut foam and foamboard for my hobby projects. The machine is really precise so it should be able to make some really nice cuts.
